Amorgos Greece is a wonderful island in the southern side of the Cyclades group, famous for its picturesque architecture and the intense spiritual vibes. With traditional Cycladic architecture and secluded beaches, this is a fantastic place for total privacy, often described as a paradise by visitors. This is also an ideal place for hiking and naturism. In fact, many hiking trails cross the island, leading to hilltops and naturist coves. Agia Anna is such a naturist beach, accessible through a path down from the Monastery.

The island of Amorgos is one of the Greek islands of the Aegean Sea and it belongs to the Cyclades islands group. It is a quiet island but very famous due to the movie The Big Blue. The most interesting of the villages in Amorgos island is Chora, the capital of the island, which is situated at an altitude of 400 metres above the sea level. This is a charming village with unique atmosphere, whitewashed houses, a Venetian castle on top of a steep rock, lovely churches, a labyrinth of narrow paved alleys and traditional restaurants. Amorgos island amazes tourists with the incredible colors of the sea water. Agia Anna and Agios Pavlos are lovely beaches, but you will certainly find many other places to swim around the island. If you like hiking, you should know that some really fabulous beaches can be accessed only on foot. Apart from swimming, make sure you pay a visit to the impressive Monastery of Hozoviotissa and try the local rakomelo.

Accommodation in Amorgos has more traditional style, including mostly family studios and apartments instead of large resorts. Chora, the capital of the island, and the two ports, Aegialis and Katapola, concentrate the majority of hotels. These hotels are built in harmony with the surrounding environment and totally matched to the local architecture. Over the last years, some large resorts are built in the region of Aegialis. More secluded places to stay are Agios Pavlos and Tholaria. Have a look on the accommodations that we suggest and organize your holidays in Amorgos.
